Peter Dalman

Peter Dalman

Managing Director

Peter leads Finesse with a genuine interest in people, problem-solving, and the wider painting trade. He sits on the Canterbury executive board of Master Painters New Zealand, so a fair amount of his week is spent on industry standards as well as the business itself. His view is that a repaint is a long-lived decision, and that running a painting company is mostly the work of keeping that promise consistent across regions and crews.

Outside of work, Peter enjoys meeting people from all walks of life, a glass of decent red, and time with his family.

Michael Skinner

Michael Skinner

National Business Development Manager

Michael is an experienced general manager and business consultant with a long history of working across different industries and locations. He runs business development for Finesse and is usually the first call for new commercial enquiries. He is skilled in relationship management and enjoys the side of the work that involves listening before quoting.

Outside of work, Michael is most often found with his daughters, on a motorcycle when the sun is out, or at a concert.

Lauren Herring

Lauren Herring

National Project Delivery Manager

Lauren works in the fast end of the business, where variety, deadlines, and quick thinking are part of the role. She holds project delivery together across commercial and construction sites across NZ, working with main contractors, foremen, and our own crews to keep programmes on track. She has a natural ability to work across different personalities and cultures, which matters more than it sounds.

Outside of work, she spends time outdoors with her two children and is a big foodie who makes the most of time with friends and family.

Monique Murray

Monique Murray

National Operations Manager

Monique oversees the day-to-day operations of the business. She is known for her strong organisation, high standards, and a people-first approach, and she plays a central role in keeping the whole organisation running smoothly and aligned across regions.

Outside of work, she enjoys Pilates, matcha, and long walks on the beach.

Hazel Miller

Hazel Miller

Project Manager

Hazel runs projects and is often the named contact for homeowners in her area. She is known for her client relationships, her sense of humour, and a calm, solutions-focused approach. Her view is that everything is fixable and that communication comes first, which is most of what keeps a residential project moving without surprise.

She is from the UK and is keen on football, netball, marathon running, and figure skating. An all-round sporty member of the team.

Tim Braid

Tim Braid

Quantity Surveyor

Tim handles the numbers end of the business. He has roots in high-end residential construction and subcontract painting, and that hands-on background shows up in how he prices a job: a sharp eye for detail, and a quote that reflects the work that will actually need doing.

Outside of work, you will find him with family, watching rugby, or following the Formula 1.

Operations and administration

Gena Hausmann

Gena Hausmann

People & Training Administrator

Gena supports staff and contractors with HR, training, onboarding, payroll and general administration. Her genuine, friendly approach and clear communication make her easy to talk to, keeping the team supported and well informed.

Outside of work, she values family time, keeps busy with her children and stays active through running.

Morena Bautista

Morena Bautista

Finance administrator

Morena plays a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly. She supports the management team with day-to-day administrative work, managing Finesse's finances and job-costing. Her organised, dependable approach keeps the small things in order and the bigger things on time.

Outside of work, she enjoys going for walks and eating out with her family.

Holly Morrison

Holly Morrison

Executive Assistant to Managing Director

As Executive Assistant to the Managing Director, Holly keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes. Coordinating the MD's schedule, meetings, and travel arrangements, while maintaining accounts. With her calm and proactive nature she also brings the team together, organising work and social events to keep everyone connected.

Outside of work, Holly is drawn to the outdoors, the sun, and the sea. She is passionate about holistic health, and her favourite thing is creating family memories with her two children.

Abi Hyslop

Abi Hyslop

Marketing Coordinator

Abi brings a fresh perspective to Finesse, combining creativity with a strong eye for brand identity and detail. She is new to the painting trade and comes from an agricultural background, which keeps the questions sharp and the writing honest. Known for a positive, can-do attitude and a collaborative nature, she helps keep our marketing fresh, consistent, and on brand.

Outside of work, she enjoys coffee and walks with friends, the gym, running, and the social side of a busy week.
